So much going on… There’s no free time at all. But that’s a good thing — girlfriend, grad school, interesting stuff at work. I’ve been banging my head against OpenLDAP for a week, trying to set up a single user database for all services — mail, wiki… Can’t find decent documentation on how to actually use it. Yesterday I installed eGroupWare — quite a powerful collaborative work tool. Very happy with it, very feature-rich. Hopefully it’ll help me be a bit more organized. And it should come in handy for colleagues too — reminders, knowledge base and all that…

I’m also thinking about changing jobs. Not sure yet exactly how or in which direction. I’d like to keep doing sysadmin work — I’m just starting to get the hang of it. Finally got to Apache and MySQL :) For now it looks like I’d need to work in Berdyansk. If I can’t find something suitable there, I’ll probably start looking more actively toward Kyiv. Really don’t want to leave this place — I like everything about it except the salary. When I think about what I’d like to treat my girl to, the salary looks downright pathetic :( For now I need to write down my passwords somewhere (on paper or in some software), because their number and variety could become a serious obstacle — either for me in the future, or for my successor :) That’s the short version. More to come.
