I didn’t want to write anything, but on my way to the store a scene caught my eye that very vividly illustrates the attitude toward Victory Day and veterans — both from our authorities and from certain circles of the public. Photo from the wall of a private café. It’s not very clear in the shot, but the eye noticed: underneath the pasted-over words “Victory Day” there was previously “Defenders of the Fatherland Day”.
